St Mary's

As a Church of England school, we are very proud of our links with
St Mary's Church in Cottonstones village (just a few hundred yards away). Our children visit the Church at key events in the school year, such as Easter and in July for the special Leavers' Celebrations.

We are very fortunate to have regular, inspirational visitors, from across the circuit of local Churches, who visit our assemblies.

ST. MARY'S CHURCH AND SOCIAL CENTRE UPDATE

Thank you to everyone who supported the fund-raising campaign to help secure the future of St. Mary's Church and Social Centre.

We have raised an incredible £17,607!

All the work that was necessary to remove the timber infected with dry rot and treat the sub floor of the church with anti-fungal has now been completed. The less urgent work of rebuilding sleeper walls has still to be scheduled and funded.

What at first seemed an insurmountable task in raising enough funds has been successfully achieved thanks to the generous support of the community.

Our next task is to encourage people to become more involved and promote activity in the community centre, to that end we have set up a Facebook page:

https://m.facebook.com/cottonstonescommunitycentre/?ref=bookmarks ,

website is in the making and we've established a Community Group. We are also in the process of organizing several events, the first of which is a Ceilidh, due to take place in June… watch this space!

Thank you again for your support.
