Updated Sunday 21st June 2020
I am pleased to say we shall be able to Welcome Back a third of our school from this week in 3 Bubbles.
As we have nearly 50 key workers on our list (which is growing!!) we are unable to open up to any more groups at this stage. Each class teacher will continue to add Home Learning on their class page and continue to communicate regularly with those at home. But please respect the fact that they are all teaching full time now as well.
I am hoping that if most of these keyworkers do not need care on July 16th /17th that we may be able to offer some sort of final farewell to our Year 6 - so Watch this space!
Please see the letter below which explains to those attending school tomorrow our new procedures which must be followed in line with our Risk Assessments.
Please re-read the letter as there are many changes to normal but here are a few key points to remember -
- One adult to drop off/collect (if bringing small siblings please do not allow them to run around others).
- New drop off points/ new times for each bubble.
- Please protect our staff/community by not socialising with others, standing on 2m marks.
- No entry into school at all by parents/visitors- please email/phone office if needed.
- Packed Lunch to be brought (disposable packaging if possible) or wipable container - KS1 lunches will be provided. Full Water bottle essential.
- Uniform if possible but if not suitable clean clothes each day (eg shorts/t-shirt) no vests/crop tops/ dressing up clothes please. Trainers are a good idea.
- Sun lotion needs to be applied before school please/ bring hats.
- Outdoor coats if wet, we shall still go out!
- If your child is unwell , please do not send to school. If you suspect Covid 19 symptoms please alert school as soon as possible as the bubble will need to isolate until a positive test result is received.

Please look at the 'Class Curriculum' Tab to find work for each class and please look at 'All Classes' to find useful information about safeguarding (including online safety). Please be extra vigilant, particularly at this time and monitor what your child is seeing online. The NSPCC link is excellent to share together.
I must say a BIG WELCOME to our new starters who have received their letters to say they have a place at St.Mary’s in Reception for September 2020. Things may be a little different this year but do not worry, we shall still make sure your little ones are ready to start their new school just as we would normally do. It is new and exciting for all of us this year and a change is as good as a rest!! Please keep dropping into this site as I will start to add information for you too. Take a look at the Class 1 /All classes pages as some of the activities are useful for pre-schoolers too.
We also love seeing the children’s fantastic learning at home – please keep sending their work in by email as we would like to showcase it on your class page or even in the Newsletter.
Thank you again for all your support and patience at this time.

At St Mary's we celebrate the individual. We pride ourselves on our warm, inclusive environment.
As a traditional small village school, our size means that we know every child personally, can tailor their education to suit them, nurture them and keep them safe.
Our children make strong friendships and feel part of our Mill Bank family. We teach them to be polite and respectful to others and to live by the Christian values Jesus taught us. Most of all we teach them to think independently and to feel comfortable with who they are.
We believe that our children will only succeed academically if they enjoy learning. Our staff endeavour to create inspirational opportunities to learn, in order to allow every child to achieve and ultimately excel in all areas of the curriculum.
St Mary's is proud of its Christian heritage. We retain close links with the church at Cottonstones and we strongly believe in educating children in the core Christian values. We encourage honesty and respect for others and we expect our children to have a good sense of right and wrong.
We hope you will find our website informative. Should you need any more information or you would like to look around our school, please contact us.
